Shawn Clyde bought this 2000 Ford Focus Se in great condition in 2008. He didn't modify the Focus in the first 2 years of owning the car, but then in 2010 it was rear-ended and Shawn had to source replacement parts. His automotive hobby and passion grew from there. After replacing the rear, he also replaced the stock suspension with aftermarket springs and struts. Over the course of a month, Shawn spent $8000 in parts and and it wasn't until February 2011 where he bagan to install everything, and in a limited space, single car garage.
Shawn spent day and night working on his car. The car was stripped down to the frame and reassembled with all the newly purchased parts along with donor parts from another Focus. After hours of watching YouTube videos, Shawn took on the exterior modifications including welding, fiberglass, bondo and paint. He purchased all the equipment to do it. Wellington Motors in Guelph, Ontario allowed him to use their paint booth for a weekend, but he messed up in his 1st attempt. It took a week for Shawn to sand the car and re-prep it for his 2nd attempt at painting. Once again, Shawn watched more Youtube videos, this time "Car Painting 101", and successfully painted the Focus.
